Trainings: $100/hr

​Topics include:
Foundations of Infant Mental Health - This training will provide a basic overview of Infant Mental Health and the theoretical foundations that support it. Participants will have a better understanding of what it is and why it is important.

Reflective Practice - Reflective practice is an essential part of Infant Mental Health practice. An overview of this best practice approach will provide participants with an understanding of ways they can implement mindfulness and reflective space into the work they do on behalf of young children and their families. This basic training will provide an introduction on Reflective Practice.

Adverse Childhood Experiences - Our past shapes who we are and can impact our adult health status. This training will give participants a better understanding of how adverse childhood experiences shape us and determine who we become as adults.

Infant Mental Health Endorsement - As professionals who work with infants, toddlers and their families, we want to be all that we can be to provide the best services to the families that we serve. This training will give a basic overview of the OK-AIMH Endorsement Program and the steps to becoming an Endorsed professional in Oklahoma

Childhood Trauma - Trauma impacts infants and toddlers differently than it does older children. This training provides participants with an understanding of how trauma effects very young children and their relationships with caregivers, and ways that we can intervene from an relationship based, trauma-informed perspective

Reflective Practice- Reflective practice is an essential part of Infant Mental Health practice. An overview of this best practice approach will provide participants with an understanding of ways they can implement mindfulness and reflective space into the work they do on behalf of young children and their families. This training is more in-depth then the training on Reflective Practice listed above. This training will provide participants a better understanding of the usefulness and application of Reflective Practice by experiencing and participating in a "fishbowl style" reflective group process.

Attachment -All learning happens within relationship. This training will explore the impact of attachment relationships on all areas of development, and identify strategies for facilitating attachment where there has been a disruption as a result of trauma.

The Impact of Relationships on Brain Development-This training explores the importance that early relationships play in brain development, and the impact that caregiving relationships have on cognitive and socio-emotional development.

Infant Mental Health and The Adolescent Parent- this training will address the impact of poverty and maltreatment on adolescent parenting and the effects to the child; the impact of developmental capacity on adolescent parenting; teen-friendly communication skills to enhance cooperation and promote positive relationship between the parent and child; effective interventions for challenging issues specific to adolescent parenting to promote infant mental health

It’s OK-AIMH’s desire to make these trainings accessible to those working with and on behalf of families with infants and very young children. Fees maybe negotiable with prior approval by OK-AIMH. To seek a reduced rate, please submit a written request.
